* Piccolo Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

If you wish to feel the heartbeat of KL and get immersed in real KL city life, you may try staying in Piccolo Hotel.
Located in the most happening part of KL (Jalan Bukit Bintang), this hotel offers rooms at very reasonable rate without compromising on the quality of  accommodation to its patrons.
You just have to step out of the hotel and you are already on the famous "Bintang walk", a pedestrianized walkway lined with mostly F&B kiosks.
Piccolo Hotel is sandwiched between 2 shopping malls (Lot 10 & Fahrenheit 88) There are other shopping malls in the vicinity, all within a radius of 100m or so. These are Starhill, Sungei Wang Plaza, Bukit Bintang Plaza, and the Pavillion Mall. The monorail which takes you to other parts of KL is also nearby. This is a place you can eat and shop till you drop.

There are 2 entrance into the hotel. This is the entrance from "Bintang Walk", the pedestrianized walkway. Hotel patrons who are checking-in usually use the other entrance which is nearer to the reception lobby.

This is Bintang Walk and it's right at the entrance.  It is usually busy like this.
The other entrance (for vehicles that need to unload luggage) is located on a quieter road ,off Jalan Bukit Bintang.
From the entrance you will need to climb this flight of stairs to reach the reception lobby.
This is the  reception lobby. It is spacious and there are many sitting places for its patrons.
This is the corridor to the rooms.
We stayed in a suite which comes with a living room and a bedroom.
The living room is spacious and is furnished with designer chairs and a comfortable couch. There are some reading materials and newspapers is also sent to the room in the morning.
Wall decors in the room and the entire hotel are themed after marine plant and animal life.
There are 2 TVs in the suite, one in this living room and another one in the bedroom.
There is a pantry area. Coffee and tea making facilities and a mini-bar are provided.
This is the bedroom.
This is the 2nd TV in the suite. Usage of broadband is free and the reception is extremely good.
The closet is equipped with bathrobes, slippers, electric iron, hangers...
a safety box,..
a sewing kit, hair dryer and a Bible.
The wash area separates the toilet cubicle and the shower room..
There is a bathtub in the shower room.
These are the bath amenities provided.
We stayed on the 8th floor and this is the view taken from our room.
You can see a lot of activities going on at the Pavillion Mall.
To commemorate Earth Hour on the 31st March 2012, lights are switched off at the hotel lounge and lobby from 8.30pm till 9.30pm.
This is Jalan Bukit Bintang at night.
This is the entrance into the food court at Lot 10.
This place is a food haven.
And all these are just a few steps away from Piccolo Hotel.
There is no swimming pool or gym in the hotel but there is a spa.
Massage therapies are available but not for free though.
Also available is the fish spa, where you dip your feet into a pool of Garra Rufa fish.
Hotel guests get a 15% discount to enjoy the fish spa.
This is the hotel lounge.
There is an internet kiosk at the lounge . Usage is 50sen/5 minutes.
The F&B activities in the hotel is very sluggish with very few patrons or outsiders dining in. Perhaps there are too many eating places outside.
During my stay there was hardly any diners here.
Our room comes with free breakfast but guess what? We were instead given these meal vouchers to have our breakfast in a cafeteria outside.
This is the cafeteria we had our breakfast in.  It is called Daily Kopitiam located in Fahrenheit 88.
And for RM7.90 per person, that was all that we got.

To conclude it all, my overnight stay in Piccolo Hotel is memorable and nice. The 2 best things about the hotel is the location and the room for which I would rate as:
                                Location            :  A++
                                    Room            : A
                              Room Facilities   : A +
