12. Central Market (Phsar Thmei)
Among the more than 10 markets and night markets in Phnom Penh, Central Market is the largest and a must-visit if you are in the city. Avid shoppers can easily spend more than half a day here as the market has a couple of hundred stalls. The array of products sold here is quite impressive and you will probably be able to get what you are searching for.
Central Market which was built in 1937 was designed by French architects. Unless you see an aerial view of the building it is hard to realise its beauty because the stalls are jam packed. The premise comprises a central hall with a domed-shaped roof and four wings branching off it. Vendors selling watches and jewelries get to occupy the central hall as seen in this photo.

There are many sections, each specialising in a particular type of product. The headwear section for instance would see the entire row of stalls dedicated to selling all types of headwear. There are so many you will surely be spoilt for choice. To get a good deal you need to hone your bargaining skill.

There are also sections that provide specialised services, like hair dressing, tailoring, etc. It's everything under one roof at Central Market.
The wet market section sells a variety of meat, poultry, fish and other fresh market produce.

As its name suggests, this market is centrally located in the heart of the city where public transport is easily available.

The address is Street 128 (Kampuchea Krom) in Phsar Thmei 1 Commune, Daun Penh District, Phnom Penh

13.Russian Market (Phsar Tuol Tom Pong)
The Russian Market is thus named because it used to attract a lot of foreigners, in particular the Russians during the 1980s and has nothing to do with the products sold or vendors' nationality.
Like Central Market, Russian Market has many stalls with sections that specialise in certain wares but the stalls are quite congested and ventilation is extremely poor. If you want to get natural and free sauna, do visit Russian Market and it'll do a good job making you drenched with sweat as you weave through the narrow alleys.

Russian Market does have a lot of interesting souvenirs to bring home.
The Russian Market is located at St 155, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
