Horses here, horses there, horses everywhere!
"Palace of the Golden Horses" is a 5* hotel named and themed after these beautiful, majestic creatures making it quite extraordinary indeed. Located in the Mines Resort City in Sri Kembangan this resort is considered the best in the Sri Kembangan/ Serdang/Balakong region(which is only 20 min drive away from Kuala Lumpur).
The hotel is built beside a beautiful lake(a former tin mine) and is just adjacent to a race course. It is also in the vicinity of the only shopping mall in Malaysia where a water canal runs through.
This is the exterior view of the hotel. You'll probably agree with me that it looks like a palace.
This is the hotel reception/lobby area. The service however, does not measure up to the grand looking lobby.
If you look up the ceiling , you can see a spectacular painting 0f horses.
We stayed in the Minister's Suite which has a separate bedroom and lounge.
The lounge is very spacious. There is a sofa...
a comfortable chair, a display cabinet, curtains with design I don't fancy (because it is exactly the same as the ones I have at home which is already faded and kept away)
a big flat tv,
a working table with free access to internet,
a posh looking washroom equipped with the necessary amenities. Actually there are 2 washrooms in this suite: 1 in the bedroom (picture above) and 1 in the lounge. (picture below)
a complimentary fruit platter, chocolates. and fresh flower decor.
This is the view from our room.
There is a nice swimming pool and a play pool for the guests.
a gym if you feel like working out.
hotel lounges for you to hang out
a few F&B outlets, all with elegant settings. Now look out for the horses. They are everywhere.
A horse on the bedside table in the bedroom.
You'll be greeted with statues of horses at the Carousel Restaurant.
There are even more horses in the restaurant itself. The display of horses in the Carousel Restaurant makes you feel like you're in a real Merry Go Round.
If you don't see big horses you'll see small ones. (look out for the statuettes of horses on the display shelf in the Chinese restaurant)
There are horses in the Italian Restaurant too.
The hotel logo is a horse which appear on Menus, letterheads, brochures, room directories, etc,etc
This is the hotel pier for water taxis. You can go for mini-cruises or just take a ride to the shopping mall from here.(RM8 per way)
This hotel though not perfect should be given credit for its uniqueness.
