Premiere Hotel is the newest and probably the best hotel available in Klang. Owned by WCT Berhad, this 4 star hotel offers 250 rooms and suites with 3 executive club floors.
A friend of mine spoke very highly of this hotel and as usual, curiosity got the better of me which was how I ended choosing this place as a weekend getaway.
The hotel reception lobby is located on the first floor. Since we drove our own vehicle and carried our own luggage to the lobby, we did not notice the availability or unavailability of concierge service at the dropping off area on the ground floor. What I noticed was there was no such service on the lobby floor. The reception service is just satisfactory. By the way parking is free for hotel guests.
The lobby and lounge are exceptionally spacious with shiny granite flooring and trendy wall designs.
The lifts to the accommodation floors are located away from the lifts to the parking floors.
We stayed on the 17th floor which is one of the 3 executive floors. This place where we alighted from the elevator is bright and spacious and commands a good view.
The hallway that leads to our room.
We stayed in a "Grand Executive Room" which is a corner unit.
The room is very spacious. It comes with 1 queen and 1 twin bed - enough for 3.
The wall is arch-shaped.
We get to see mostly housing estates and shop houses from our room window.
There is a long bench for you to put your luggage.
There is a closet with a safety box, hangers, drawers but only 1 bathrobe.
Bedroom slippers.
Also provided are a hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
There are coffee & tea making facilities with a few complimentary sachets of coffee & tea.
There is a mini-bar but all items are chargeable.
The washroom is not very spacious.
There is a toilet, and a separate shower cubicle, but no bath-tub.
The toiletries provided are quite complete with combs, toothbrushes, shaver, etc.
Other than these, newspapers and WIFI are also complimentary.
The price of food in the in-room dining menu is cheaper than in most KL city hotels.
The executive room we booked comes with the privilege to use the executive lounge where we can get free flow of beverage the whole day. This lounge is located on the 18th floor. This is the executive lounge. Its usage is only for residents of the executive rooms.
The executive room we booked comes with complimentary late afternoon tea.
Petite cakes and finger food were served.
Delectable snacks
Great tasting cakes and sandwiches
We enjoyed our afternoon tea as everything tasted nice.
The hotel facilities include a gym with only a few machines.
There is an average-sized swimming pool.
The pool is partitioned into 2 section, one for the adults and the shallower section for the children.
This is the poolside terrace.
The hotel spa is well designed but it is manned by a very unfriendly and inhospitable staff.A friend of mine asked me to check out the ballroom available but she was not impressed after seeing this.
The main F&B outlet of the hotel called "The Buzz" is located 1 floor below the lobby. We had our breakfast here and were pleasantly surprised by the fair spread of great tasting cuisines served.
Simple but nice vermicelli soup.
Delightful patisserie.
Individually wrapped nasi lemak and fried vermicelli served piping hot from the steamers are some of the food we enjoyed.
The hotel is located just next to Tesco and it is a short driving distance to Jaya Jusco. In terms of facilities and location, this 4 star hotel fared quite well but in terms of service it is still not up to the mark.
Things To Do If You Are In Klang
Klang is famous for Bak-Kut Teh and we will never miss this delicacy whenever we are in Klang. There are probably a couple of hundred stalls, restaurants or vendors selling this dish and I can say most taste great. The proprietors have to fight for survival as patrons are spoilt for choice.
There are many versions or varieties of this dish. This is the dry Bak-Kut Teh.
This is the soupy Bak-Kut Teh.
This restaurant may not be the most popular or famous restaurant serving bak-kut teh in Klang but I enjoyed my bak-kut teh meal here nevertheless.
