We made a pit stop at Samten Choling Buddhist Monastery on our way down from Tiger Hill. I heard monasteries in this part of India are very beautiful. If I ever visit monasteries, all that I can appreciate are just the designs, architecture and non-religious icons perhaps.
The steep road to the monastery.
If it's about architecture and design, this monastery would get a low rating from me.
Petty traders displaying their wares outside the monastery.
Small time coffee vendors are a common sight in Darjeeling. Perhaps it's winter and a cup of hot coffee provides temporary relief to the cold.
