Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport Hotel : Review And Photos

Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport Hotel is located at Caldwell Drive which is just 500 metres away from the departure hall of Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport. Since it is the cheapest hotel within walking distance to the airport it became our natural choice while waiting for our flight home.  Choosing this hotel not only saved us transportation expenses, it also gave us peace of mind as we we did not want to be caught in traffic jam, etc on our way to catch an early morning flight.
This 3-storey walk-up hotel has 73 rooms and is opened 24 hours a day.
The reception lobby and dining room are adjacent to each other. Since there is no elevator, staying on the upper floors may be a bit burdensome if you have heavy luggage.
My room did not come with breakfast but an eat-all you can breakfast is available and can be purchased.
We stayed in a standard room with 2 single beds and one overhead bunk. Another type of standard room comes with only one queen bed which is a better choice for two as the overhead bunk is precariously positioned and you may get your head knocked if you are not careful.
The room setting is very simple and facilities provided are very basic. The room is air-conditioned and the facilities include a TV, very limited open-air hanging space for clothes, a very small table,  some towels and 2 plastic cups. Wifi and bottled water are not given. Internet is available but is chargeable. Electric kettle is not provided but a staff was nice enough to lend me one.
There is an en suite bathroom and toilet but the wash basin is positioned outside.
The bathroom/toilet is very small. Water heater is available.
The view from our room (3rd floor) is quite dull. However the room is sound proof.

Dining is convenient as there is a McDonald Restaurant nearby and plenty of food kiosks at the airport. Wifi is also available and is free if you'd care to walk to the airport.
