I just came back from a four nights free stay at Invito Hotel Suites and had a good time galavanting that part of the city where all my favourite food are found. Though free, my stay is not sponsored by the hotel so this review will be an unbiased one.
To start with, the address is a little bit tricky and we lost our way twice trying to locate it. When we finally found the hotel, we realised it is actually right in the city centre, along a lane branching off the famous Jalan Bukit Bintang. It is so close to the Golden Triangle area that it deserves an 'A' for accessibility and connectivity to the city's hotspots including the monorail station. We got this map from the hotel after checking-in which may be useful for those going there for the first time. (By the way Hubba Hubba is the name of the hotel restaurant).
This 27-storey hotel with 354 guestrooms was recently launched in July 2014. I was glad to be staying in a hotel that has not even celebrated its first anniversary as my preference has always been for new hotels.
The reception lobby and lounge is really spacious but the setting is kept rather simple. The staffs are friendly and helpful and it was a hassle-free checking-in.
The hotel offers four types of accommodation and this chart shows the room tariff during time of my stay.
We stayed in the 'Studio Deluxe' room on the 19th floor which is larger than the deluxe rooms of most other hotels. It is more like a serviced apartment that comes with a well equipped kitchenette, complete with an induction oven and other kitchen gadgets.
There is a balcony but we couldn't access it as the door is locked. Anyway we did get a fairly good view of the city through the glass door.
Internet is not available in this room. However there is daily housekeeping service and complimentary bottled water which is replenished everyday.
The room is equipped with a full sized fridge instead of a mere mini-bar. I am not sure whether every unit comes with a washing machine but ours does.
A feature that always pleases me is the availability of shelves and there seems to be plenty here.
Everything in the room still looks new and clean including the washroom which comes with a separate shower cubicle.
Bath amenities are quite basic though. Only shampoo and bath gel are provided. Surprisingly a hair dryer is not available.
This is the hallway on the 19th floor. The first eight floors of the hotel are parking floors. Guests who drive park for free. The 9th floor is where the swimming pool, fitness centre, self laundromat and lounges are located. The conference and internet rooms are on the 10th floor. The accommodation floors are the 11th floor upwards.
Among the facilities offered by the hotel are an infinity swimming pool and a gym on the 9th floor.
There is a small jacuzzi pool beside the swimming pool.
There is also a self laundromet
There is a spacious lounge on this recreation floor but no F&B outlet . Guests can only find a drink dispenser here which dispense bottled and canned drinks at a very cheap price. (eg, A can of Sprite for RM1 only)
The air-conditioned TV room on the 9th floor is accessible using the room card.
The one and only restaurant in the hotel is located on the ground floor, adjacent to the reception lobby. This chic restaurant with a catchy name (Hubba Hubba) cooks up a simple but delightful buffet breakfast meal everyday in addition to other meal offers. The breakfast is priced at RM18++.
So what's good here? The fresh salads, croissants and coffee are most commendable.
View from the swimming pool.
The area surrounding the hotel is a hub for night life. A street with a whole row of pubs and bars is located just 1 block away. This street is a place where some revel away into the early hours so one setback about staying in this hotel is the loud music from these pubs which is audible even on the 19th floor. This will inevitably affect sleep quality.
This photo is taken from the street where all the pubs and bars are located. Invito is just behind it.
My overall review of Invito Hotel Suites is summed up as follows:
Location: A+
General Services: A-
Room Facilities: A-
Hotel facilities: A-
Sleep Quality: C
Cleanliness: A
Restaurant: A-
Value For Money: B
