Things To Do In Queenstown: Queenstown Gardens

Nature lovers will surely adore Queenstown Gardens. Even though it is located a short walking distance from the main commercial centre of Queenstown, it is a serene place beautifully tucked away in a little peninsular that juts out into the alluring Lake Wakatipu.
Queenstown Gardens was established as early as 1887 and is home to many species of plants and trees. It is the best place for recreation in Queenstown as it is equipped with many facilities. Among some are tennis courts, walking tracks, frisbee golf course, and ice skating rink. Most enchanting of all are its manicured flower gardens, ponds and landscaped park within.
Queenstown Gardens is open to the public 24 hours a day and it is one of the best free attractions in Queenstown. There are two entrances into the garden. From Marine Parade you'll get to see a lovely sculpture of a fern leaf and from Park Street you'll enter through a gate which is always kept open. There are ample parking near the entrance at Park Street and this is one of the very few places in Queenstown where you can park your car for free the entire day.
