* Sheraton Imperial , Kuala Lumpur

Sheraton Imperial is a 5* luxury hotel located in the heart of downtown KL. It actually lives up to its 5* status in many aspects but I do have mixed feelings about my stay here.
It has a grand facade.
There definitely is a touch of class.
The concierge service was good.
My first dissatisfaction about this hotel is the lack of hospitality, courteousness and PR skills in the reception staffs. I had 2 such encounters during my short stay here.
There was this lady receptionist who pretended to be oblivious of my presence and made me wait even though I was just in front of her.
Ist class hotel with 3rd class reception service is how I would grade Sheraton KL.
The counter staffs are also not trained to take phone calls in a courteous manner as one such staff actually showed irritation in her voice just because she couldn't hear me clearly over the phone.
Having said that,it's now time for some compliments. We stayed in the Deluxe Room and I am absolutely happy with it. The room is spacious. Each bed comes with 4 pillows and the bed is very comfortable.
Quite a luxurious setting
The bathroom is spacious and there is a whole room of closet space.
Iron and ironing board are provided.
There is a safety box and many drawers to store your things.
There is grandeur in the washroom setting.
Bath amenities comes in elegant packaging.
There is a bath-tub.
There is a separate shower cubicle.
bathrobes..
There is a big flat-screen TV and CD/VCD players.
Contemporary paintings adorn the room walls.
A cabinet equipped with tea and coffee making facilities.
There's a mini-bar but items in it are chargeable.
Complimentary sachets of tea, coffee, creamer etc.
Mineral water - many bottles of them.
There is internet access but at an exhorbitant rate of RM45 per day.Parking is also not free. (RM8 per entry)
This is the view taken from our room. We could see KL Tower.
This is the view of the 5th floor from our room. The hotel swimming pool is visible from here.
The hotel pool is located on the fifth floor and the pool area is nicely landscaped.
This pool looks nice but it is not nice to swim here as the water is cold even on a hot evening. I couldn't help but noticed pool users cringe the moment they stepped into the water.
The Italian Restaurant is just beside the pool.
The pool bar.
This Italian restaurant, styled after a country Italian home is a beautiful place to dine in.
The interior of the restaurant.
The upper ceiling of the restaurant are adorned with interesting paintings.
This is a picture of the hotel taken from the 5th floor at the pool area.
The Chinese restaurant in the hotel.
This is Pavilion Lounge - a relaxation lounge that offers cocktail and music.
The main restaurant in the hotel called Essence is where we had our breakfast.
There was a wide spread of food for breakfast.
The layout of food and the various food stations were professionally done.
The food is generally above average but then again the staffs are not friendly.
The Mandara Spa offers spa services for hotel guests.
Also available is a gym.
Water, towels and apples, on the house.
There's a jacuzzi pool.
The water is warm and nice.
Also available are a steam room and sauna. Lockers and bath amenities are provided for hotel guests.
The relaxation lounge at the spa.
Free Wi-Fi is available at the lobby lounge but reception was often interrupted.
Computers and internet can be used for free at The Link@Sheraton near the lobby but the number of places is limited.
The Koi pool at the lobby area.
There are many beautiful lounges at the lobby area.
The hotel may have extravagant fittings, furnishing and decors but the service is found wanting, so it's not a place I would like to come again.
