We cruised to Tomok Village in this boat which is owned by Toledo Inn. I'm sure Tomok Village can also be a accessed by road if you are staying in other parts of the island.
Wasn't keen in shopping. Since I had all the time in the world (as I had to wait for the others) why not pose a bit? lol
The highlights of this place are the ancient tombs of the Batak Kings. The most spectacular tomb is the one with a lady figurine on the rear, depicting a tragic love between a king and his lover who never got to be the queen.
German Missionaries brought Christianity to the Batakland and the 3rd and consecutive kings became Christians as evidenced by the tombs.
These carvings remind me of the ones made by the Maoris of New Zealand.
These houses are no longer inhabited. They remain as show units for tourists visiting the place.
