Awana Genting Resort is located at Gohtong jaya, about 4km before reaching the peak of Genting Highlands. To be more exact, it is just a short distance after the town roundabout. Among the Genting Group of Hotels in Genting Highlands, it is the only one that offers a resort setting thus making it a better choice for holiday makers who prefer a quieter and more relaxed getaway.
This resort is easy to locate as its signage is visible from the trunk road.
There are ample parking lots - indoor as well as open-air for patrons who drive their own vehicles.
The hallway leading to the reception counter is exceptionally long and very spacious.
The reception service is just satisfactory.
Three types of accommodation are available here. The deluxe rooms in the tower block, the 1-roomed condos, and the suites. We opted for a deluxe room in the tower block.
Our room was on the 15th floor - Room No 15554
The room comes with a nice balcony, overlooking the golf course and countryside beyond.

The room is air-conditioned, carpeted and provides the necessary facilities of a 3-4 star hotel. There is a king bed and a queen bed. It can actually sleep four.
There is a flat screen TV and a mini-bar.
Complimentary mineral water and sachets of coffee & tea, coffee cups and an electric jug are provided.
Cleanliness in the washroom is satisfactory.
There is no separate shower cubicle - just a bathtub. Bathrobes & bedroom sandals are also not provided.
The toiletries provided are very basic.
This building houses the suites which is another type of accommodation available in the resort.

The resort pool is nice to swim in as it is heated.

The fitness centre is tucked away in an inconspicuous corner of the tower block.

Free shuttle bus services to and from First World Hotel is provided hourly till the wee hours of the morning and to and from the Skyway every half hourly for resort patrons till midnight.

There are plenty of areas to sit around in the resort.
There are also meeting rooms and conference rooms for group activities.

This is taken at the entrance of Rajawali Restaurant - the biggest F&B outlet in the resort.
Our room comes with breakfast. The picture above shows the breakfast crowd at Rajawali during our stay.
There was a fair spread of breakfast cuisines. Tastewise the food is OK.
9. An Indoor Garden and Koi Ponds
There is a lovely indoor garden and a few Koi ponds on the lower ground floor of the resort.
The resort does not provide free internet access. The rates are as above.
The resort may be far from the theme parks but it is very near to Gohtong Jaya township where you can find plenty of restaurants. It is also near to the orchid farm, the strawberry farm, and Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong Memorial Park.
