I stayed in The Original Sokos Hotel Presidentti while touring Helsinki. Its location in Etelaeinen Rautatiekatu 4 which can be considered within the city centre is its main plus point.
My room is a standard twin room where a good number of amenities are provided. There is a flat screen TV, a mini bar, ample walking space and sufficient storage space for the luggage and belonging. WiFi is available in the room and it is complimentary. My only complaint is neither drinking water nor water boiling facilities are provided.
The items in the mini bar are all chargeable.
There is a hair dryer, a bathtub and basic toiletries in the washroom.
The hotel lounge is a cozy place. There are a few computers for guests' use here.
Reception counter staffs are very helpful.
There are facilities like swimming pool and saunas for hotel guests.
Buffet Breakfast At Presidentti Restaurant
Buffet Breakfast At Presidentti Restaurant
My room comes with buffet breakfast at Presidentti Restaurant on the 3rd floor.
Breakfast coupons are given out upon checking-in which has to be submitted for entrance into the restaurant.
There is a fair selection of average tasting food for breakfast.
Even though the food wasn't great, I love the ambiance of the restaurant.
Location
This is the building directly opposite Presidentti Hotel
One of the main assets of Presidentti Hotel is its location. Kamppi Shopping Centre which is located a very short distance away offers shops, boutiques, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket which is very convenient for hotel guests.
Inside Kamppi Shopping Centre.
The hotel is also near to Helsinki Central Station, and a walking distance to some of Helsinki's famous tourist attractions. However, as mentioned earlier drinking water and water boiling facilities are not provided in the room (type: std twin) and hot water has to be purchased from the lobby at EURO 0.50 / cup. For this reason alone, I would not recommend this hotel to potential hotel seekers.
