Berastagi is a quiet hilly town about half way between Parapat and Medan. I regretted we couldn't spend more time here as the weather is simply lovely.
We arrived at the market place at almost 6pm. This young man was persuading us to go for a horse cart ride but we were more interested to visit the market as it was getting late.
The flower stalls are just adjacent to the fruit and vegatable market.
These are the local produce from nearby farms.
I have never seen this fruit before. Was told they are Indonesian pessimum.
Mandarin oranges, mangosteens, avocados and strawberries are some of the fruits sold here.
These are the markisa fruits.
These rabbits and hamsters (in the background) are also for sale.
It was dark by the time we came out from the market.
