Phuket Travel Part 3: A Walk On Patong Beach

Phuket is endowed with beautiful beaches & Patong Beach is one of them. Stretching a distance of 2km, this rather expansive beach offers a wide variety of fun activities and lots of facilities.
This beach may not be 100% litter free but that's understandable as not all visitors are that hygienically disciplined. It's good enough that one can enjoy fine golden sand on  a beach with such gentle gradient.
Sunbeds with umbrellas lined almost the entire stretch of the beach. These sunbeds belong to vendors and a set of two sunbeds, an umbrella & a small table can be rented for about 200baht/day. There are also toilet facilities on the beach.
Colorful umbrellas like these make a marvelous sight.
These vendors also sell drinks and food by the beach.
On the day I arrived it was raining and windy, so the sunbeds were folded up and kept away.
Parasailing, jet-skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking and banana boating are some of the watersport activities that may interest you. There are keen operators on the beach waiting to do business with you.
Some built sand castles and some do designer poses for their cameras.
Food is never a problem at the beach. There are a significant number of beach stalls and food vendors strolling the beach.
If you want something more decent just cross the road (Thaweewong Road) and you'll get to eat something of your choice.
Tired from swimming, you can window shop at the long row of beach stalls selling all types of products.
These stalls start operating at around 10.30am and business is on till late at night.
You can also get a massage or pay for any of the listed service shown above.
Tattooing included!
Walking along the beach, dead squids are a common sight.
This squid is XL sized.
Occasionally a dead fish is spotted.
Live shell fish clinging to a bottle.
Forget about collecting sea shells. Only tiny-weeny ones are seen on Patong Beach.
When the sun sets, the activities continue. Buy a floating lantern and let it float up the sky. Or burn some fireworks by the beach.
The good thing about staying near the beach is I can walk here any time I like....
.....And see the lifestyle of Phuket.
This Paad Thai vendor charges 150baht for a packet of Paad Thai. That's rather costly considering he is only operating from a beach stall. Anyway the Paad Thai looked so tempting, I bought a packet myself.
