Phuket Travel Part 2: Dining At Sea Hag Restaurant

There were fantastic reviews about this restaurant so I thought this should be a
"must-go" place for me. Sea Hag Restaurant which is located at Soi Clinic Wattana is just a 5 minutes walk from where I stayed.
The restaurant proudly displayed its acknowledgement from tripadvisor for year 2012.
It wasn't difficult to find this place at all.  Soi Clinic Wattana is located off the main beach road and is clearly visible from the junction.
Sea Hag is just a small, ordinary restaurant.
It was quite humid inside but I anticipated good food so that didn't really bother me.
I was quite surprised when I saw the menu. Contrary to the reviews I read the food wasn't cheap at all. This squid dish is 280 baht. It wasn't very tasty too. The sauce just didn't blend with the squids.
A small bowl of green beef curry cost 250baht. That's expensive actually but the green curry tasted nice.
A plate of rice costs 40baht.
We ordered fresh orange and fresh pineapple juice but the juice is not "fresh". It is either cordial or boxed juice. (Each cost 60baht)
This seafood salad is complimentary. It tasted OK.
This vegetable dish is also complimentary. We did not expect complimentary dishes as we ordered just enough for two. Somehow we lost our appetite when we see too much food. True enough we couldn't finish the food and they went to waste. A simple meal for two with 2 dishes cost 803 baht (including 10% tax). It was just an ordinary meal, in an ordinary ambiance. All other restaurants I patronize during my stay did not have a 10% tax, so why has Sea Hag got to be so special?
I happened to pass by an upper-end Thai Restaurant in Jungceylon Shopping Mall. The food is surprisingly cheaper even though the ambiance, a lot better.
The green curry dish is only 210 baht.
This is the menu from another similar restaurant. The various squid dishes all cost 100% less.
The curries and soups are also 100% less.
