Visiting The Northernmost Town Of Thailand

This day tour I paid for also brought us to Mae Sai, the northernmost town of Thailand.
Mae Sai located about 65km north of Chiang Rai is quite a happening place. There is an immigration office here as this town is a major border crossing between Thailand and Myanmar. Tachileik, the town on Myanmar side is just a bridge length away.
This river forms a natural boundary, separating Thailand and Myanmar.
The bridge that links the 2 nations has Thai flags erected on half the bridge and Myanmar flags the other half.

At the marketplace
Good place to shop for Thai handicrafts and souvenirs
We had buffet lunch at the restaurant of Srinuan Jewelry on the outskirt of Mae Sai. It was a great lunch as we got to savour authentic Thai cuisines.

This visit is part of a day tour I took from Chiang Mai which include the following itinerary:
- Chiang Rai Hot Spring
- Wat Rongkhun
- Golden Triangle ( add another 300Baht to go for a cruise to Laos)
- Buffet Lunch
- Mae Sai
