I wonder why we ever chose to stay in this hotel. To start with there are not many facilities for its guests (no swimming pool, no gym, no jacuzzi, no games room) . Neither does it boast of a beautiful landscape or a magnificent view. It is also far from KL city centre, the hub of shopping and food.
But if you are a historical person and don't mind all these then I'll furnish you with some historical information about this hotel.
Carcosa Seri Negara is a heritage mansion built in 1896 by Sir Frank Swettenham( it wasn't a hotel back then). Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II stayed here before . That was in 1989 during the Commonwealth Head Of Government Meeting (CHOGM). It is OK to be here if you love all things colonial and historical and all you want to do is to to relax and read. Perhaps?
This is the main lounge.
The photos on the left hand side show the entrance area into the suite.
The suite is actually too large for comfort and I have to admit there were times it gives me the creeps.
This is the bedroom. It opens out to a balcony.

We had our breakfast here and as mentioned earlier, the service was very sluggish. The one and only staff on duty during breakfast was still half asleep and made many mistakes while serving a simple English breakfast.
This is the hotel lawn, which is sometimes rented out for wedding receptions.
I have to give credit to the decor and setting in the restaurant. It is very elegant and charming.
The lobby area is also commendable with beautiful wall paintings and nice flower arrangements.

We were very bored during our stay here as there wasn't much things to do or corners to explore.
I would definitely not recommend anyone to lodge here.
