Fancy staying on a palm tree growing into the sea? GPTR is a resort with an amazing layout boasting of creative architectural and engineering works.
Even though it is remotely located, it is not too far away from KL (only 1.5 to 2 hours drive). It is also quite near to KL International airport (about 30-40 minutes drive).
It is a good place to unwind but not recommended if you are interested in snorkeling, diving or even swimming in the sea. The beach and sea are found wanting and you may not be able to see any marine life in the murky seawater.
Other than that, all others are not too bad. Well enjoy a virtual tour around the resort.

This is the layout of the entire resort. The car park is some distance away from the resort but transport is provided for guests who are checking-in.

This is the main trunk of the palm tree. This trunk road measures 1.2km long and lined on both sides are the cheaper villas (The Travelers Villas). Buggies ply this road and are constantly at your service.

We stayed at Canary Palm Villa which has 2-bedrooms.
Sandwiched between the bedrooms is the lounge.
The entrance area.
Canary Palm is a cosy villa with a great design. The bedrooms have sliding doors which can be closed for privacy or opened for space.
Each bedroom has an attached washroom.
A very well appointed washroom.
A separate shower cubicle.
The windows can be opened to view the sea.
This bedroom opens out to a small balcony. (In fact there are two balconies)
The second bedroom with its own attached washroom.
The lounge comes with a working table, free WIFI, a big flat TV, a mini-bar and reading materials.
Both the 2nd bedroom and the lounge open out to another bigger balcony.
A nice place to view the sea over a cup of coffee. (coffee/tea facilities are provided)
All the posters hanging on the room walls are pictures of palm trees.
The villa is air-conditioned but there are also ceiling fans. The Balinese roof adds coziness to the setting.
Among the facilities provided are a swimming pool & a fitness centre. The building on the left houses the main restaurant (ground floor) and the gym (1st floor). Spa service is also available and the spa is located on the tip of the branch furthest away from the shore.
This is a picture of the infinity-edged swimming pool taken in the morning.

Hotel patrons can also spend their leisure at the beach.
Usage of kayaks & non-motorised sea sports equipment is complimentary.
We received a special invitation to have breakfast at the Executive Lounge. Even though the choice of breakfast cuisines is limited compared to the main restaurant, the privacy and service provided is unmatched.
Simple but delectable.
The resort encompasses a lovely garden where you can take leisurely strolls or even dine as there are a couple of restaurants available. This garden is named Sunset Garden.
Outside the Perahu Restaurant.
Recycling Urns.
A lane that forms the smaller palm tree branch. Taking a walk around here is reminiscent of serene villages I have seen in pictures.
That's me outside the souvenir shops. There is not much attraction outside the resort, so you will most probably occupy your time within the resort. We did however, walk out to have dinner at a Malay restaurant. (15 min walk away)
The buggy came to pick us up as we were checking-out. This is actually our 2nd trip to GPTR and it is a place you can also consider staying if you are in need of a place to unwind.
