We were on our way to visit an ancient village in the Tuyugou Valley. Our bus ride took us through a stretch of Tuyugou Canyon which once served as an important pass on the ancient Silk Route. The canyon stretches a distance of 8km from Subeixi Village to the entrance of Mazar Village which we were visiting.
This place is so remote hardly any vehicles passed through when we were there.
The gorges are deep indeed.
& the cliffs - very steep.
This canyon splits the Flaming Mountains into two parts.
We finally reached the the ancient village.
