* Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur

Mandarin Oriental is one of the best KL city hotels I've ever stayed. If you are coming to KL for the first time either for business or for leisure, this may be a hotel worth considering.
Even though it is located in the heart of the city where we do not expect anything more than high rise concrete towers, traffic jam, noise and air pollution, the situation is not the case with Mandarin Oriental KL as this hotel is located in the vicinity of a 50 acre beautiful park (Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park or KLCC Park).
Its proximity to Petronas Twin Towers and a shopping mall (Suria KLCC) makes it all the more a choice hotel to stay in.
The Petronas Twin Towers which is a tourist hotspot, is just a stone's throw from the hotel and many rooms offer an unhindered view of these majestic towers.
The hotel lobby is undeniably posh, with a grand chandelier and shining floors. The reception staffs were helpful.
We stayed in Room 1216 on the 12th floor. This is a Deluxe Premium room with city view.
The room looks elegant and is extravagantly fitted.
Usage of internet is complimentary.
Room facilities include a large flat TV.
The room is fully carpeted.
There are coffee and tea making facilities, a mini fridge and a safety box.
A complimentary fruit platter
The washroom comes with luxurious fittings and a complete set of toiletries and bathrobes.
There is a bathtub and a separate shower cubicle.
View from our room.
Facilities in the spa which include a heated jacuzzi and sauna are complimentary for hotel guests.
The changing/dressing room in the spa is lavishly equipped with bath amenities, towels and individual lockers.
Available in the spa lounge: TV, magazines, newspapers, coffee, tea, fruits and all are complimentary.
This is the hallway where the lifts are located.

We had our breakfast in 'Mosaic', the main restaurant in the hotel.
The Mosaic Restaurant is designed by a Japanese design company. It has an elaborate finishing and I especially like the intricate hanging pewter lights and the mosaic walls.
The service in this restaurant is unbelievably superb. Your serviette will be folded as many times as you leave your seat.
The hotel pool
This is the beautiful park nearby. The KLCC park incorporate among other features, a symphony lake with musical fountains, (just outside Suria KLCC), a kiddie playground, a wadding pool and a well designed jogging track.
The jogging track
There is a shopping mall a few steps away from the hotel which provide many dining options and shopping.
