China Silk Road Travel Part 41: Lanzhou Waterwheel Garden

Lanzhou is a nice city with many parks. We visited The Grand Park Of Lanzhou Waterwheel which is meant to give one an insight into the importance of waterwheels as an ancient irrigation device.
This park measuring 3.58 acres is located within the city. It is bordered on one side by Yellow River which actually runs parallel to it.

Not all waterwheels in the park are mere display items, some are still functioning.(pic above shows how water is driven up from the river by the waterwheel and channeled elsewhere)
Waterwheels of varying sizes certainly add charm to this park. (pic shows a waterwheel of miniature size).
an enchanting water mill house in the park

A beautiful park indeed.
