• Sirince Village in Izmir Province is an ancient Greek Village with a small population of approximately 600.
• It was first settled by freed Greek slaves who were fleeing Ephesus.
• It was initially named Cirkince which means 'Ugly' to discourage people from visiting the village.
• It is located on a hill and the town nearest to it is Selcuk which is 8 km away.
• There are many shops in the the village but farming remains the main commercial activity among the villagers. 
• The village is well known for its successful wine production. Peach and olive farming also thrive here.
• In 1926, the village was renamed Sirince by the governor of Izmir Province. Sirince means 'pleasant or pretty as it is indeed a charming village with an awesome scenery.
