Istanbul Attraction: Tulip Festival @ Emirgan Park

If you love flowers April may be the best month to visit Istanbul as not only is the whole city filled with blossoms of all types, millions of tulips are in full bloom adorning avenues, median strips, small and big parks, city roundabouts and public spaces. Since 2006, Istanbul has been hosting The International Tulips Festival which last through the month of April and one of the best places to admire these charming blooms is Emirgan Park.
Emirgan Park is a public park and requires no entrance fees. It is also one of the largest parks in Istanbul spanning over a big piece of land that slopes to the Strait of Bosphorus. This is where the bulk of the city's tulips are grown and the display is enormous and simply mind blowing. I visited the park, was very impressed and almost went bonkers at the sight of hundreds of thousands of pretty tulips that come in assorted colours. Below are some of my favourite shots.
